yes, it is very easy to get the covid testing done. either 5min drive to the supermarket or we can ask someone to come over to do the test at the house!

depends....Summer is surf season, and Nov - apr you can see the whales passing by, april till june is perfect for snorkeling,.....

Very quick stay in great location and wonderful owners.

Jim the owner was unbelievable in taking one of our group to the hospital and waiting for an hour an a half.

Our fault as we rushed in and out to dinner but needed a tour. Also cups in the bathroom with the water would help.

Thank you for welcoming us into your home!

Jim and Stephie were wonderful hosts! Don’t expect a classic hotel as this a more of a home stay experience with local people. Jim has lived in the area for 40 years and is a wealth of knowledge. If you don’t want an expensive over rated inclusive, stay here and feel welcomed! Stephie is a massage therapist and leads a wonderful yoga session if that appeals to you.

Be prepared for some highway road noise, as those in power put in Highway 1 very close to the beach and this house. However, the ambience and welcome overcome this limitation.

Good

Owner Jim is an interesting man who we enjoyed visiting with - turns out we had a lot in common. We had a private room and bathroom in his house with access to the kitchen and his vegetable garden. The beach is close across the hi-way. And it is close to Cynthia’s where we had a wonderful lunch.

Had a hard time finding the place. Communication was good but still took a while to find. Glad it wasn’t after dark.

Gross. I got to this place early and I was shown the room. The bed covers were stained brown. not light brown. I mean brown. Pillows brown. The owner said he would wash them and he did but they were still stained brown. The bathroom had dead roaches. The shower carpet was disgusting. The door to the room would get stuck and I was locked in a few times and could not get out to pee. The people in the house were loud and I did not sleep. I was so freaked I left early in the morning running down Zippers with my bags in tow with no place to go. I feel totally dirty and I’m crying. I took photos and these are after I got the guy to wash them. it was unsanitary. The owner would not cancel the rest of my stay and Booking had done nothing to protect me. I had to rent another hotel room and have paid for 2 places at the same time. I’m not a princess and the pea type women and have stayed at some dingy places in my travels but this was the worst I’ve been to. Booking has not helped at all. I want to vomit. I didn’t take outside photos because I was high tailing it to get out and just wanted to get the heck out and as far away as possible.

Jimbo’s Surfers Paradise

The house is super close to the surf spots, i.e. zippers, the rock and old mans! It’s about a 2-5 min walk depending on which spot! House was clean and comfy! Jim is a super cool dude!

Close to Costa Azul for surfing, great host and stories, location, garden, and safe.

JIM - What can I not say about my amazing host? I felt a grounding presence when I first met Jim after a hectic arrival in San Jose del Cabo. He provided a lot of knowledge about the area and showed me his beautiful garden full of fruit varieties and vegetables/herbs. It really is an amazing garden. Jim is one of the first "gringos" on Gringo Hill and has many stories of the area and recommendations for beaches/surfing and food. His hospitality was generous and kind throughout our stay. We even convinced him to come to drive up to the East Cape with us to see how the surf was. The road trip conversation and company was the best with Jimbo! I was trying to get rid of a sinus cold while I was staying at his place last week. Jim gave me a lot of book recommendations to read for health and memorable quotes for life. I was coughing quite a bit throughout the trip, however the last day Jim gave me some Yerba Santa to brew some tea to help with getting rid of the cough. Jim said he should have given it to me earlier. He sent me home with some herbal tea to help me recover too. Gracias from the bounty of Jim's garden. :) GARDEN- A show stopper. Fresh guava every day. Jim picks what is ripe for us to readily eat. He also has fresh herbs and arugula, key limes, etc. to enhance your meal. He loves to share;he waited for us to come home to sample a passionfruit. His outdoor cats: Mio, Stachi and Felina are sweet. LOCATION- close to Costa Azul, Zippers, The Rock, Playa Acapulquito surf breaks to go surfing. Can't beat the location. Also close to Zippers Restaurant, Pescadito Break restaurant for a daily DJ and ocean views. HOME- clean bathroom and bedroom. Common areas are also very clean until us ladies brought in the sand from the surf :P There is floor space to have a yoga practice if you wish! There is no A/C in the common areas, but you get used to the heat.

Nothing. If you're looking for a clean place and excellent location without the fuss and frills. This is it. Jim built this home in 1981 and it is well made with concrete. Keeps the A/C in the room for long periods. The home is not modern, but it is well built and functional :) Thank you Jim! I hope to come back another time :D
